Thank you for recording in my beautiful birthplace city. I currently live in Aguascalientes. It's very safe here. Less traffic, clean, a little colder, and nice. It's only about 2 and a half hours away from Guadalajara. For the most part everyone is safe unless you go to the states or cities that have alot of cartel turf wars. Cartels don't pick on you unless you are involved or have messed with one of there people. I was raised in Houston since the age of 1. I been in Mexico since 2012. I love to travel and never have I once seen, been stopped, been messed with, or seen cadavers hagging. I'm not trying to say it doesnt exist or that it has never happend, I'm just saying that I have never seen it. Here is an example : It's like Detroit. If you go into the hood in the middle of the night, what do you think will happen? Basically, if you know how it gets then why do you go. It's the same here. Not because crime rate is high in certain areas does it mean the whole country is unsafe.

Well said! Love that you mentioned not wearing all the bling! I’ve always felt safe in GDL as long as I was aware of my surrounding, wore a cross body purse and kept an eye out for phone swipers when taking pics. Thank you for the morning neighborhood stroll! Love seeing all the beautiful trees and listening to you greeting passerby’s. It keeps my GDL spirit alive! 🌳

In all honesty, I think that Guadalajara is a very safe destination. Anybody that has traveled around the world and who has freely traveled throughout countries like Colombia, Dominican Republic, Belize, Guatemala even many European capitals like Paris, London, and Rome, will feel that Guadalajara feels much much safer than many of those places. If you are from any large city in the USA, Guadalajara may feel much safer. Guadalajara is a huge modern and colonial city. Don't hang out in the ghetto areas at night, there are plenty of nice areas to be in. As long as you use common sense and don't dress fancy and get drunk at 3 in the morning and try to stumble home you should be fine. Just use common sense. If it ain't cool to do in your home town, it probably ain't cool to do here.
