****In this video****

My truck is a 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD turbo diesel (Duramax) with 80,000 miles.
Paul's truck is a 2015 Ford F250 Super Duty turbo diesel (Power Stroke) with 69,000 miles.

Both trucks are can handle our camper-- a Grand Design 2020 model year 206RD Reflection fifth wheel.

In addition to higher miles and also being older, the Chevy has less horsepower and less torque than the Ford. It has 40 less horsepower and just under 100 pound feet less of torque. Also, it is not paid for. BUT it is loaded with options including heated and cooled leather seats, sunroof, climate control, backup camera, and has a shorter wheelbase by six inches than the Ford F250.

The Ford F250 is newer, with less miles and it's paid for. It also is much more powerful-- it's a rocket! BUT it is a base model. It doesn't have a backup camera, has cloth seats and is six inches longer. That extra length makes it harder to park than the Chevy.

The Chevy has 1000 more pounds towing capacity for a fifth wheel than the Ford. Paul has done all the maintenance on the Ford and feels the Chevy is a mystery and could mean problems.

I would see if you can park the truck at a friends house —- just in case the relationship doesn’t work — you never know 🥂

At your ages, you both should know the dangers of a short-term romance. How much would it cost to keep both your assets for a year? I suggest you do the math and keep both assets for a year (at least). I would call the one-year approach, “ a do nothing approach” – much cheaper if you break-up. Advice from an old accountant.

If it were me, I would not sell the truck or trailer just yet, considering it only has been 8 weeks you guy still in honeymoon stage. I would wait to sell anything until at least a year.

Travel together, each in their own rig, for a while and make sure that the relationship will last.

Cool your jets boys and girls. You’re running too far too fast. May I suggest that you travel together for a while in your own accommodations (your trucks and RVs respectively) until you are able to know that your relationship will stand the test of time (maybe a year). You can still have close contact and have your own stuff until you determine the outcome. One who really cares for their partner would not have a problem sacrificing for one another. Just an observation/opinion for what ever it’s worth.

PS I love my 2015 Ford F250 Power Stroke Diesel truck.

Like selling a house to RV full time, these are all material possessions that, although they help us make great memories, new memories are made with whatever equipment you have to make them. I recommend making the choice of whichever truck will give you the highest reliability and longest use. The savings from that convert into more adventures and furthering your new relationship. Best of luck with your decision!

Hey guys, keep both for now. Put one in storage and see in a few months what transpires.
Having a second truck as a back up could come in handy and give yourselves time to see if one truck versus the other will do.
I would not rush to sell one off just yet.
Have you compared fuel economy and maintenance costs between the two trucks?

This is still a pretty new relationship so don’t do anything rash. Whichever truck you decide to keep, store the other one for at least a year. Do you have family who can watch it for you for a while? You two seem logical, don’t do anything you will regret. Wishing you both the best! 😀

I was told that you should never make any major decisions for at least a year. This relationship is very new it would not be fair to either of you if you parted ways and lost your truck how would you pull your homes. I would park it at a family or friends house until you get back from your travels. You tow look great together.

A cooling off period is not a bad Idea. Bring one or the other here Truck and trailer I have lots of property to store it safely. Revisit this topic every 3 months or so and see how things are going. Then no one is out in the cold if things just don't go the way you both plan. Won't hurt to give yourselves an option rather then having to try and force things to work. This will also take a lot of the pressure off the relationship and give it a chance to work out.

In my 40 I took the flathead out and purchased a Chev LT1 short block in the crate from Chev $425. Picked up 202 heads and Offy 4duece manifold at the swap meet. Muncie 4spd and 69 Cougar rear end. Was really great times!

Trade in both trucks for a new one, then both of you look at the new trucks together and chose what will work for both of you.

I'm now watching video #4, just subscribed and just read a bunch of comments below. I agree with the consensus. WAIT. Don't start selling your stuff and no you don't have to make decisions fast. Wait for a year. OK, now on to video #6, your latest to see what you did or did not do. Good luck, wishing you the best. You guys are drunk with love...I'm really hoping there is not hangover coming.

OMO put one of the trucks in storage for 1 year! Come back in 6 months & run it a few days. They way stuff happens on the road?
Keep both trucks & swich them out! Put liz's truck in storage 1st since shes still making payments and you are using her new RV! Then in one year when your relationship is more solid....then reassess if you should sell one of them. My eyes are peeled on you guys...congrats!

As a 3 time Chevy diesel owner 2007, 2009 and 2011 and drove many miles, I suggest you keep your truck for at least 3 months and if things are great with your journey, sell the Chev and keep the Ford as it’s paid for and 4x4 is a must if you plan to go to areas where rainfall and dirt roads are abundant. Four wheel drive saved me so many times when the roads are an issue and parking when the ground Is muddy or very sandy.
Down the road when you upgrade the truck together and get the brand and features that suit both of you. Love the channel and keep technical info coming.
