I love how Leon plugged Viddal fight. And Viddal plugged Leon workout app.

its funny because everything she says crossover fans do, shes wrong. We DO look at the technical ability & its not just about knockouts & watching your favorite donny fight someone. Maybe the general public who just tune in for the main event- but actual fans of the genre (for the most part) we are all fans of boxing now. A lot of us watch regular boxing because of crossover & a lot of us have taken up boxing training. I rarely ever see anybody talking about that.

I'd argue cross over boxing is doing the opposite in terms of appreciating the skill, ws are seeing amateurs improve with excellent analysis from people like yourselves, wade, roundhouse fm (who you should have on) we are learning what the basics are to make a good boxer, now we are seeing youtubers start to learn more technique and upping the levels learning beyond the basics, all in all giving us a better understanding and respect for the top end of pro boxing.

Kind of wished you guys debated her and challenged her a bit on the crossover stuff- genuinely, all the reasons I hear pro's and purists give, it all has a hint of jealousy about it. Would have been good I think for her to hear from you guys who are also from the fight world what your perspective is.

6:30 but Shannon wants that same crowd from YouTube otherwise she wouldn’t have started a channel and came on this podcast. Bit hypocritical.

Cross over hate is rooted in jealousy. Other than the safety argument, I think most of it is just pro fighters are being salty. Amateur, celeb, white collar etc, have always existed. Now they know how to make money and market it.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.

What makes her more of a real fighter than a influencer fighter who decides to get in a ring and scrap? Experience and skill level is different but they both face the same risk

Traditional boxers should just embrace the scene and learn from it rather than trying to dismiss it out of jealousy. What can they learn you my ask? How to promote yourself instead of waiting for promotional companies, how to make big money fights, how to make fun events that people actually want to watch. Especially now that the youtubers are taking boxing more seriously and actually have some skills

Alot of boxing fans don't know the intricacies of boxing. Why are we acting like most boxing fans are some sort of analyst

Basically she hates cross over boxing because they pull the crowds and numbers that she never will.

I feel like she hasn’t watched many of the crossover fights at all, I feel like she’s just jumping on the band wagon and making assumptions

Little does she know influencer boxing has inspired more people To go to actual boxing gyms than professional boxing has done since it started

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I just think her reasoning for not liking crossover boxing made no sense. I'm still confused on what she exactly doesn't like about it.

SHANNON AND ANYBODY HATING ON THE CROSSOVER BOXING SCENE COULDN'T BE MORE WRONG 🤢🤮 YouTube boxing, or crossover boxing, is bringing in more views and generating more interest in the sport, period. If I were a pro boxer right now, I'd be praising Misfits and trying to spar with Jake Paul, etc. It's a great opportunity for all pro boxers and the organizations to be friendly with the YouTube scene because it's bringing in new fans and views to the sport and why would you shit on that.. It's especially good for the fighters because it allows them this huge opportunity for a platform to showcase their other talents like Viddal does with his YouTube channel and his music. Social media stars are way more interesting than professional boxers to the average person on the internet, but if you're both?? Good on you!

Now fighters like Jake Paul, JJ, and Salt Papi are training for months and putting in legit work, fighting guys who ARE legit pro boxers and who have MMA wins on their record. C'mon, this is no longer what it was back in 2018. People are interested in BOXING. That's why Wade's channel is blowing up. The guy breaks down fights. Sounds pretty technical to me. I personally watch so many fight related videos now because Crossover boxing turned me into a boxing fan, period.

Here's a specific example from my life and my personal story of how youtube turned me into a boxing fan...

Fun fact, my dad was a huge fan of boxing. Like a superfan. People may think that this means I should like boxing too, and I'd be surrounded by boxing my whole childhood. This is where you're wrong. My dad was a successful photographer. He has shot many legendary sport games. He was at Tom Brady's first superbowl, he's been to countless NBA Finals and Stanley Cups.. and he's been to some legendary fights! His job was to shoot the biggest and most important sporting events on TV in the past decades. He met some legendary boxers and had signed pictures hung up of them. Over the years he had shot so many fights and became a HUGE fan of the sport. But he didnt share that with me, or anyone else in the family. So boxing was kind of his nerdy own thing he liked but we all forgot about. I just remember growing up with thinking boxers were old men because of all these old ass photos of absolute legends I knew nothing about, signed and everything. As a kid no one cared about boxing anymore. I would always think my dad was the coolest and brag that he was on the field with Tom Brady but no kid at lunch would care if i said he was in the arena with pacquiao. But slowly that is all changed. I'm 23 now and I have always been a huge fan of KSI so I got into watching the Crossover scene early.. and now i've slowly turned into a superfan myself where I get baited into watching every goddamn YT Short about Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis 🤣 i'm sure there's a lot more like me. I have to admit, KSI isn't even my favorite "Youtube" boxer anymore... it's Salt Papi! So i've just become a fan of boxing period. Idk who shannon is, she isn't relevant enough to me or my dad... maybe she should start a youtube channel

Nah she just mad she's not getting paid or looked at like them lol. I swear some people are petty. She's not watching all these people growing since day one.

It’s not for them, it’s for us. May it never appeal to pro boxers. Never cared about pro boxers, and them caring or not caring about crossover boxing won’t change my care for them too.

The 1 single pro boxer that I honestly look forward to watching is Tyson Fury, that’s it.
