Goku only gets angry when a villian kills someone extremely close to him e.g when frieza shot piccolo (Goku thought he died) and blew up krillin and was about to do the same to gohan. It was too extreme for Goku and too much fury erupted which caused ssj if a similiar thing occurred I could see something similar like ssj happening and a new transformation being unlocked.

I think in those situations where Goku could have potentially developed feelings and emotions of anger he was more of shocked first then angry afterwards, as for Gohan he feels anger almost instantly in those situations which gives Gohan an advantage in this area
