Most company’s 401ks suck now. They have a long vestment and still restrict what you can take when you leave.

1:32 @antondaniels Silent Generation are the folks BEFORE Boomers. People like my mom who is 90 years old and still going. I'm in my 50s, so a Gen Xer, raised by Silent Gen parents. They are called Silent because they worked hard and did not complain. Many had govt or manual labor jobs with pensions (hence their wealth today). Some, like my parents, also went to college later in life to have a better life. Thats when college was still very inexpensive. Did all this because they could believe in the American dream and were happy to participate so had no complaints= Silent Generation.

To live in a time when the dollar was strong and tied to the gold standard, unprecedented economic and population growth after a major war and any degree was a good degree I think almost anyone could succeed if they were self aware enough.

My grandfather was drafted into Vietnam War, but since he was a scrawny kid he only did duties around the barracks. He then got out and started buying property in the 70s and 80s and now he's a retired handyman. Smart man, but he also was a rolling stone. I have a dozen aunts and uncles he had by different women. Boomers were smart producers, but were horrible parents 😭😭😭😭😭

Why do the responsible haves need to give to those that haven’t been responsible enough to become wealthy?!?! Nobody owes anyone anything just because they have less

The early Boomers were the children of people who were affected by the depression and as a result, had a tendency to save their money.
This guy said Boomers aren't spending like they should and not becoming poor like we need them to.
He doesn't know what he's talking about. Boomers are spending like crazy on travel, eating out, and a lot of things.
And how would it help the rest of us if they became poor? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha -
He said "Oh. the Boomers are used to being homeless." That is not what was said or indicated at all.
What was explained was that because Boomers have always been the largest part of the population. It's also why their percentage of being homeless or being anything else, was such a large percentage compared to other age groups.

He's telling the truth about saving money when you can and contributing as much as possible to 401K and retirement vehicles.
Also about getting rid of debt.

Truth is boomers never had to deal with what young people have to deal with today. Jobs were secure then. Try saving money after being laid off every 4 years.

Damn, my brother and sister were born in 1945 and 1947 and they both got money 😂😂. I’m a Bag Chaser to try and correct that as a mid-Millenial

The $300, 000 home my parents purchased in 1998 is worth over $1.2 million today. I'll likely inherit a good chunk of that.

Boomers are extremely hard workers. We worked our asses off to be able to buy our home in the 80's when interest rates were 18%. We saved and paid off our home. So nobody is going to tell me what to do with the money we worked for or make me feel bad about what we earned.

The Boomers actually spent too much money (in the past). But eventually, you cannot escape the ramifications of that.

The Boomers are eating the Millenials cake. I feel sorry for the Millenials and the GenZs are down in a hole.

There are a LOT of boomers. They are the largest generation percentage wise and they’ve had 40 years to acquire their wealth and they were the generation on the cutting edge of technology. I’m a young boomer and when I became an adult inflation was the highest ever until now. I basically got screwed coming and going.

I mean their old . They should have something to show for at some point . Completely different eras form boomers vs mills and genz and gemx. The job industry when they started off were good at that time and steady

The early boomers suffering are those who opted not to stay in their homes or have not paid off their homes. Many on the west coast.

So, im wrong and hurting others by keeping my house that I paid for? Im exacerbating the housing problems of younger generations? Build more houses in thier price range.

Anyone, as someone who worked in the home building industry for years before going off on my on, the majority of neighborhoods built in the last 30 years has an HOA! What does that mean, most people will live in a community with an HOA. Hell people are struggling to get a home period and you’re talking about avoiding a damn HOA! Come on dude!

Do not confuse people with a broad sweeping statement like that. I’m 70+ and as broke as every other boomer I know. Be more specific ! There are wealthy boomers as well as wealthy younger generation people. Elitist are controlling the economy.
