Session 14 Harness Training

While I didn’t show the videoing of actually getting the harness onto George - today we had some major success.

Biggest thing is that once you have your
Bird comfortable in the harness - do something engaging and fun - but not scary. We can straight outside today and just chilled out on the grass.

I approached the harness the same way as usual - letting George be comfortable, but I put on a little more pressure and approached the harness the way I would any other no-nonsense activity (such as putting George away in his cage for bedtime) ...

He allowed me to put the harness over this head quite easily. Different birds have different areas they struggle with - for George - his fear area is about his neck. Once the harness was over his neck - he was fine with me putting it over his wings and doing it up around his belly.

My next session will tell me if I have damaged progress or not by putting on more pressure. I will film the next session in it’s entirety.
