Horse Whinny

When I was boy, I could whinny like a horse and horses would respond. Years out of practice, my whinny is now really lame. But today (at the Scottsdale Polo Championships: Horses and Horsepower) I whinnied at a polo pony and it responded.

That whinny by the horse is a 'my mates have all gone and left me by myself' whinny.

For the record, the nose curl is the horse pushing a scent deep into its smell sensors to identify or remember. Another silly thing horses do is when they yawn they are signaling a lowering of stress. I caught a horse yawning while sticking out her tongue all the while closing her eyes with the inner eyelid covering her eyeball.

This normally doesn’t work. When a human tries to neigh, a horse wouldn’t respond that but ok 🤷🏽‍♀️
