As a former Union worker. Work for a union if you don't like this stuff. I lean towards union work. Not as many blurred lines.

There are many good and valid reasons why you might decline to carry out a task with the words "that's not my job" and you did not mention a single one. Some good reasons might include the following: The task may be step on somebody's toes. The task may be against company policy for pepole who are not fully trained and authorised. The task may be illegal for people not authorised or licenced. The task may be unsafe, unethical, or against your religious beliefs and practices. Having not been given notice, you may not be dressed suitably or otherwise prepared for the task. Your completing the task may go against agreed union rules/collective agreements. Finally, you may have have an employment contract which specifically excludes you from carrying out certain tasks for whatever reason.
