Ghost islands used to be very common, since it was the entire JOB of some people to discover new lands, if they couldn’t find one, they just resorted to lying that they did in locations that no one would bother to visit while they were alive.

There was actually another island that also somewhat used to exist and also not exist at spirit Island near Antarctica and there’s only one source of description and it’s the Wikipedia maps that it said that it belonged to France, but other recent present day maps, it doesn’t even show or exist, and many theories think that it could be a iceberg island
