Porter Robinson - The Nurture Piano Mashup (15 songs) | by keudae

I have never gotten to know a set of songs so well as the songs off of "Nurture." I truly hear every lyric in my head, and feel the weight of the notes as if I am singing through my fingers. I feared I wouldn't be able to finish this mashup before the new year but the transitions, the order in which to play them, and which keys to pick came easily since I had practiced every one of these songs for so many hours already. I put my heart and soul into not only this 15 (16 😬) song mashup but into every individual song itself over the past almost two years, and I'm grateful to all of you who have been on this journey with me 🤍🎹✨

Being able to automatically start humming along as soon as the melodies switched without even consciously knowing what song it was is a flex I think only Porter AND Jenny fans can pull off so I'm proud 😆 I think cause you make it sound so fluid and natural, people can easily underestimate the amount of work it must have taken. Nurture's sound and message are so comforting, and it was much needed for such a difficult year. As a pianist and musician, I feel there's nothing more rewarding than having someone appreciate and feel your music the same way that you do. It's a level of understanding and connection that articulates something I can never find the right words for. Particularly when I listen to Wind Tempos and the soft piano ballad at the end of Something Comforting, I wonder and hope if others can feel the same way I felt on the nights I listened as I rode the bus back to my apartment.

Your Nurture medley was beautiful. I can think of no better songs to end the year with.
