Here are my top DO's and DON'Ts before working at an Amazon warehouse. I hope this video will be able to help out new or upcoming Amazon employees. As an Amazon employee myself there are a lot of things that I knew nothing about before my first day at Amazon. And I want to be able to take what I have learned from personal experience and be able to help the future employees.

Do your job but don’t OVERWORK yourself 😒. We all walk out with the same pay.

Well I quit after a month as a picker. The amount of weight I was losing was ridiculous; the breaks need to be longer than a half-hour so we have more time to eat and relax!

The best position is the ship Dock, it’s busy and a little more lenient.

Honorable mention#1: talking to people. Doesn’t apply to me because I’m a super introvert lol

#5 do is a great tip. You forgot a couple of things. Don't get sick and don't get injured (pull a muscle) because your managers don't care and they will hold you to the same production standard no matter how sick or hurt you are. Also, when you take a bathroom break, take a small merchandise item with you and scan it before you put your scanner in the bins outside the bathrooms. This way you don't get slammed with TOT for using the restroom.

Great video! I’m 19 and just started working at Amazon this summer before school. Currently a counter. Probably will request to be a picker or stower in the coming weeks. Training on the first day sucked because my learning ambassador taught us terribly, and we had to figure out a lot of things on our own like which breaks are on/ off the clock, how to use the scanners, where to check in, etc. No one was mean, and no one was particularly happy, everyone was just there. I especially had to remind myself that this is a warehouse, everyone just minds heir own business and is there to work, that’s it! But since it’s amazon I was really surprised that the first day on site training wasn’t more organized, but I think this stems down from the facility management. Experience could very well be different at other warehouses due to how everything is managed, just getting that out there!

So I am glad that you mentioned subscribing. I am guilty of getting so caught up in watching the videos and just watching the same channel consistently and I forget to "subscribe" I will now and it's also because even though these are older vids, you still reply and the information is to the point! Thanks

California passed a law protecting Amazon workers don’t know the exact specifics but they can’t fire you anymore for not meeting demanding quotas or having to go for the restroom even if you aren’t on your break .

I’m 48 and was laid off from my current job in March from the Covid pandemic. I’ve spent 21 years in the printing industry, primarily at a desk doing customer service. Most likely will not be called back, so I accepted a job for lead fulfillment associate at a new Amazon warehouse which starts on Aug 30th. I’m anxious and a little nervous since this is completely new to me. No idea if I will last long there, but your videos are quite helpful. Thank you.
