Why Are We Lazy? 🔥🔥🔥

#Science #Laziness #Procrastination
When you have one free evening and two options in front of you—to work out and to watch a movie—which one do you usually choose ?
You’ll be relieved to hear that choosing the couch is only human.
Humans are inherently lazy, which may be a trait left over from our ancestors days of conserving energy for the next hunt. Hunting and gathering was energy-intensive, and short breaks of inactivity offered the rare chance to save hard-earned calories.
Studies show that even when we do choose to move, our bodies naturally do it in the most economical way possible—which is bad news for anyone trying to lose weight.
In an experiment researchers asked nine people to wear a sort of motorized leg brace designed to disrupt the normal way people walk by adding resistance to their knee joints. The people in the study then walked on a treadmill while the researchers measured how they adapted to the device.
In just few minutes researchers noticed that people started walking in a way that saved them calories—even if it was in very small amounts.
Laziness can be tracked back to our ancestors when they chose to use fire and weapons for hunting instead of running behind their prey, when they chose to invent wheel for easing their journey and started farming instead of shifting places for search of food.
And maybe we are doing that too. We have invented so many things that have made our life so easy that we don't even have to go out and do things like before. Everything is just on our fingertips.
And in future everything might happen just at the instance of our minds thinking. It seems that our laziness is the reason for our progress. And our progress in turn has made us more lazy. Maybe it's a cycle that is impossible for us to break. Not that it's bad because it's probably the reason why we are so evolved than other species on earth.
So the next time you are lazy, you have great excuse, tell yourself you are contributing to the progress of humanity.
