And nothing to the Trooper who continues to arrest sober people for DUI.

The trooper should be held liable for their actions. Charge the cop the $255 dollars for getting it wrong. Betcha they'll stop violating people's civil rights.

That right there tells you everything you need to know. It's not a matter of safety, It's a matter of MONEY! And the state will steal it from you regardless!

I know a guy who passed all three field sobriety tests, blew under the limit, and was still convicted of DUI in Utah. It's a racket.

This is a problem. This gives police incentive to pull people over for no reason so the state can get more money from the reinstatement fees. This has to be unconstitutional.

Yes, let us pull people over and give them trumped up charges. When they prove their innocence, we shall charge them a $255 scheme to get their licenses. Makes sense—let it be written, let it be done.

The same thing happened to the father of my kids a few weeks ago the officer told him that he needed to take sobriety test or he would lose his his licence. He tried to tell the officer that he had bad ankle that he couldn't balance on one foot the officer made him do it anyway and use that as the reason to say that he was intoxicated when he in fact have done nothing.. he is now in the process of fighting to get his license from the DMV because as it turns out the wrong words of a cop can affect somebody's life while after a court case

I'm glad people are waking up to corrupt laws and police flaws. I hate when people say "this is a country of laws" in order to dismiss other's concerns. Laws are made by humans, they are not perfect, and we need to change them when we find the flaws.

She should be paid $100 per hour for false arrest and detainment. Half should come out of the cops pay and the other half from the police chiefs pay. Better to let 9 guilty go free than punish one that's innocent!

I'm a "1 in 5" I got arrested for cannabis dui in 2015 but I was found not guilty. It still changed my life forever and cost me approximately $7500. I lost my license for 90 days while the case was pending, paid impound fees, and spent a night in jail. Ultimately the county prosecutor presented a single charge of misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia (I had only an empty joint container from a legal state), I've been afraid of false imprisonment ever since.

Another corrupt "industry standard". This is the same in every state.

These people got off easy... As I was told by the d.m.v., "the dmv operates outside of the state and is its own entity. To even get i.d. I was denied because I didn't have mail within their timeline. A call to the governor might help, but as the dmv told me, the governor himself could be standing here and we would deny him i.d. driving sober is crime in utah. Lost my license for 3 years, was denied i.d. for a year. Lost my job for the false accusation, Lost my driving privilege. And could not get a job for a year because they denied me i.d. where was my news story, when I was writing the news?

I would still fid a attorney to sue them for wrongful arrest do not let them off the hooki would also file a complaint with internal investigation exspecially on the officer that pursed that you were. Drunk when you weren't you guys also need to form a group on face book and get more people to rally behind this do not give up I would wright back in to the judge because he can also dismiss your fines to DMV and you can also file to have it permanently removed from your record you have to go to the judge and reguest it in wrighting this is totally wrong what they did I would also contact the law library for a list of attorney s the law library is usually in the court houses are some where close by their in utauh
