The reason Wish-Ender generates more super is due to the super changes a few seasons ago. You get your main super by doing Damage, the more you do; the bigger chunks. Because Wish-Ender hits VERY hard, you naturally get a chunk of super, but because of it's 'overpenetration' it hits 3x, meaning 3x the chunks.

Thanks for giving this more attention! This has been one of my favorite builds to run with teams (as a non-hunter main) as it fuels more super usage, which in turn helps ammo preservation and makes more effective use of time when plowing through swarms.

I've been running this since forever. So good.
Double ashes to assets. Tether a large group, wait till super gets to 50% or close, toss grenade in the middle of it all, and you'll be close to a full super in seconds.

Been running a similar build on my hunter (I’m a warlock main) and when I’d find a Phoenix protocol warlock those are the smoothest GMs I’ve ever done

Oh man... you should have seen how broken those were in year one. In the leviathan calus encounter I was able to get 6 to 10 tethers shot off covering the floor in orbs of light. Those boots used to be so broken using deadfall

Ive ran this build, in the beginning it was good. It was goof for shuro chi farm too. But as i got end game i got squishy. And shifted to gyrfalcons and omnioculous, radiant dance machines.

The reason wish ender gives that much super energy is because you're technically hitting the same target 3 times so you're getting super energy for each tick.
