"Predators prey on people's desire to be polite."
This is exactly why I'm very very open when I think someone is being creepy. A guy followed me and two friends around campus once. We were walking to my car at night after a play, which is at the edge of the campus. I noticed he had been following us a fair ways away so I turned into a building and ducked with my friends into a bathroom. I waiting just a short amount of time, mere seconds, then poked my head out and yep, the guy was awkwardly standing in the doorway not knowing where he was probably. I flat out said "if you're lost go ask the campus security. Their office is around the corner."
He ducked out of there and I haven't seen him since.
Campus security was actually a ways away, but it worked.

If ever you feel something is wrong, listen to your gut. Screw the feeling of looking silly. You can always be wrong, but you'll be wrong and safe. It might be you're right.

This isn't exactly related but the day my dad left he drove me to the road to wait with me for the bus (which never happened because he works a lot and never missed a work day) and he started talking about things we did like go to the zoo or hunting and reminding me that he would always love me, the bus showed up and I got on I got a horrible feeling in my gut that something bad was going to happen this feeling stayed the whole day with multiple teachers pulling me out the class room to ask me if I was feeling alright as I was acting strange. When my grandpa picked me up after school he told me about my mom and dad getting divorced I didn't see my dad for a couple months as he was trying to find somewhere to stay. Always trust your gut people.

Me and some friends were relaxing on the cool, soft sand of our lake, when all of a sudden, we see a large fish net coming towards us. We quickly escaped, unharmed.

Back in college, me and a group of friends trespassed into an abandoned hospital building. We were exploring it because we heard it was haunted. In the middle of the third floor, we were walking through the children’s ward when the double hallway doors slammed shut behind us. It was middle of summer and we weren’t near any winds so no wind.

It was strange because me and two other people had this feeling to suddenly turn around so we actually watched the double doors slam.

So we hauled ass down the staircase and got trapped at a dead end because the exit door we found was chained and padlocked shut. Someone threw a nearby chair through the nearest window and we hopped out and ran all the way back to campus without stopping.

To this day, I think it was a homeless person trying to scare us off.

Shoveling snow, minding my own business, and young black bear walked up behind me. I bailed. No idea where momma bear was, and didn't want to find her.

Not me but my parents. In their early 50s, decided to go to dominican republic because they like dancing.

They went to a recommended club and they could notice human trafficing in there. My mom was really scared because a suspicious guy kept glancing at her

It got really scary when a giant group of high schoolers left and they were now alone. Found a random couple to sit with, who were just as scared.

They recommended them a way back to their hotel.

I remember when I was in college, myself and some of my friends walked to a cemetery near campus to stargaze one night. The cemetery was at the top of a hill, with modern graves in the center and a row of 19th century headstones off to the left, so we went up and lay on our backs, looking at the stars. Suddenly, a yellow car came up the hill and parked near us. We figured it might be campus security trying to shoo us back to our dorms, but when the car's headlights didn't turn off after five minutes, we figured it was best simply to leave.

Boy, these videos are intense. The questions asked, or raised, are so important, even if people tend to overlook them.

When I lived in Australia, some friends and I went on a road trip. After spending a bit of time at a lookout just off the main path, I started to explore a little on my own.

As I moved further down this dirt track I heard movement in the long grass to my right and suddenly my brain screamed 'MOVE TO THE LEFT'. So I did.

The path was narrow and there was a steep drop on the left so I could only manage a couple of steps, but that was enough to look behind me and see a Brown Snake (yes, one of the poisonous ones) slither off further into the long grass.

Never experienced a feeling like that before or since.

I have a story like this! I used to take walks down a trail near my house and there is a point where it splits into a dirt bike track. It had been raining earlier that morning and I was going to go through the track because it was staring to rain again and it was a quicker route. As soon as I turn in I look down and see something on the ground. Thinking it was trash I went to pick it up to throw it away. As soon as I pick it up I realize that it's a ziploc bag of money. It was at least a couple hundrend but in that same moment I hear the unmistakable sound of a handgun cocking. I couldn't see anyone but I knew they were hiding in the trees so I dropped the money and backed away with my hands up. I know they followed me for a while but I made it back home safe

My bff & I were walking from a local mall to her house, as it was maybe a 10-15 minute walking distance, when I turned to face my left. A black car was speeding towards us.
In that instant, I grabbed my friend by her wrist and we ran off the road. I didn't take my eyes off the car. As it passed, I could see the bright glow of a phone screen sitting on the driver's wheel.

My friend didn't see it and was just confused as to why I did that. She called me paranoid & we continued walking to her house. In all honesty, I believe that if I wasn't paying attention, we both could have been hit by the car.

It's not like this category of experience at all but I walked to the bus on a snow day. It was a grueling 10 minutes, as I had to basically walk across ice and several heaps of snow and ice. I get to the bus stop and I squat down to conserve body heat and then a snowplow truck from the school transportation department asks what am I doing out there?
I told him, "Waiting for the bus."
He said school was canceled and so I walked back home and told everyone school was canceled. I was dripping icicles from my nose!

When I was around 12, me and my friends (about 5 of us) were walking in the woods. One of us (we'll call Jeremy) pointed out this really run down house, of course being dumb 12 year olds we decided to wander around inside, oh man I really wish we didn't. Maybe around 10 feet away from the house everybody smelled this really shitty smell, we passed it off as dog shit or something. So we stepped in, and the smell was RANCID, in fact one of my friends (we'll call Randy) started dry heaving, but eventually stopped. We heard creaks and other creepy noises, but Jeremy stopped us from pussying out by convincing us the house was just old. We went into the kitchen where we saw some *fresh* meat, could've been deer but I don't know. We all kind of stopped but my dumbass friend (we'll call Sam) decided to be all like "We already have come this far, we better not stop now", which convinced us to keep on going, we went upstairs and saw a door quickly shut as if someone noticed we were coming, and we heard a faint whisper of what sounded like "They're coming, get behind the shelf". We booked in out of there in less than 10 seconds. As we got closer to the door, we heard *stomping* footsteps running down the stairs, luckily since we were far from home we had bikes, but I will never forget the terror I felt when I first heard the stomps. I couldn't sleep that night and have kept a small but razor sharp hunting knife on me ever since.

Was sitting in a grocery store cafe having on lunch break. See a 20's something african-american guy storm out yelling about his coworkers being bitches and the like. One of his coworkers yells back at him that he's a punk and is all talk talk talk. Dude just stared her down and said he'd be back. After about 5 minutes i noped the frick out of there. Turns out the guy came back in like 20 minutes later & threatened a bunch of his workers with a firearm.

Having to evacuate from a summer camp thats for people with varying disabilities and all mobility levels that’s in the forest of boulder creek CA in the evening due to a tinny nearby fire

I had gotten a headache I had to go to the cabin early to rest and about 20 minutes later one of the counselors start SCREAMING at the top of their lungs

EVACUATE EVACUATE EVACUATE WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW THERES A FIRE

I haven’t moved so fast in my life I had packed up 3/4ths of my stuff in a matter of 1 minute before the other campers that were in the cabin even we’re out the door (they had mobility issues and needed to be loaded in wheelchairs) and I had warped everything in my sheets that I didn’t want burning and they helped me carry it out so it wouldn’t burn

Luckily they got it out FAST and the camp wasn’t affected now I don’t like being there because of this what if one happened in the middle of the night and it was BAD 😕

Also be loud and assertive. Walk with confidence, even if you have to fake it (for awhile or forever). Less likely to be taken
