Fun fact: my parents were both born in the ussr. My great grandmother on my dads side was a secretary for either Kruzhev or Brezhnev (I forget which one) before they were leader. A different job basically. It was in the 30s also

I love the fact that you changed the Russian flag after Yeltsin which is historically accurate. They did change the Russian flag and used a darker shade of blue in the late 90s.

What we lost in 1991 was a brutal blow to hundreds of millions. Say what you will, but the Soviet Union brought food, water, shelter, and innovations to countless people. The region went from a backwards, feudal society to a nuclear superpower within the span of a few decades. It is a testament to what can be achieved with working towards the common good.

Fun fact: After the death of Stalin, reports about the horrible and gruelling condition of Gulag work camps started to leak to the west. Kruschev, wanting to establish good relations with their counterparts, started to quickly shut down the camps that were left. Most of them ended on that year, in 1953, and the prisoners released.
