Why you should visit ALICANTE in Spain: We spent a week in Alicante and the city really surprised us in a good way. We think Alicante is a perfect city and beach break destination and in this video we'll show you why we like it here so much!

Alicante offers a great mix of nice food, vibes and of course – a city beach with beautiful water that is easy to reach from the city center. In this video we'll show you a day in Alicante starting with breakfast at our favourite cafe, a visit to the Central Market and a cute museum, delicious Arroz (Paella) lunch, Alicante's beach and finally, tasting vermouth at one of our favourite bars.

If you can help it, try avoiding the city beach (El Postiguet). It's usually the dirtiest of the city, and the most packed. If you're close by, try getting the tram for 10 min and get to Playa de San Juan, where there's a 14km beach with fewer people and usually cleaner. If you've got a car and you might want to explore one of the many many beaches around the city that offer crystalline clear waters.

Also, as opposed to Valencia, we're known for many types of rice dishes. The most common ones could be Arroz a banda or Arroz del senyoret, but you can get dozens of types in every place.

Last year I went to Spain for the first time. I did Valencia + Alicante 🤩 both cities are so underrated -- stunning architectures, buzzing markets and incredible food. Ah, and congrats on 20k.

Alicante has become my favourite Spanish city. It is big enough to be exciting but small enough to get to know really well so after a few visits you can feel at home. And well done for pointing out that the rice dish you had is just called 'Arroz'. It's not the same as paella. It has ingredients you'd never put in paella. If anyone is trying to sell you 'paella' in Alicante it probably isn't very good.

Spains 5th busiest airport more than 20 million tourists a year and a region with loads of holiday homes its not exactly a hidden gem but I agree the area is fantastic we go every year. Nice video!
