DIY Dance Sprung Floor over carpet | Use it for Dance, Ballet, Yoga, Gym, Weights

Here's a step-by-step guide on how I built my dance sprung floor over my carpet for less than $500. Underneath is a hardwood surface that provides stability. The carpet helps the "sprung" portion so it protects the knees from further damage. I use this floor to practice ballet, yoga, and weight lifting. I love DIY and did tons of research on dance floors and finally came up with this method. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them!

Would you recommend this floor for just walking around on? Looking at injury prevention and home theater use (feel the subwoofers)

When did you screw the plywood together and where? Also does the marley tape show when you pics together?

Stagestep people said I need to get rid of carpet then put on vinyl mat. Do you think I can put plywood on any carpet and then lay vinyl on it? I am thinking buy vinyl of 5.5 mm thickness.

I've injured myself twice on the floor I got now and I'm too scared to practice on it now. Hopefully this'll help 😢👍

Do you think it would be possible to create multiple sections and then combine them for a larger dance floor?

I was wondering whether over time the carpet flattened. And did that decrease the spring in the floor?

Great idea & video. Why did you use marine grade Sande plywood rather than rough cheaper plywood for the first layer with good one side plywood as the top layer? Did you use wood filler or something similar to smooth out the tops of the wood screws before applying the Marley floor?
