As the war escalates, Ukrainian authorities are asking the US and the UK to allow far-reaching strikes with Western missiles against Russian territory. The battles intensify both near Kursk in Russia and Pokrovsk in Ukraine. After a joint visit of Antony Blinken and David Lammy to Kyiv, the chances for a positive decision on long-range strikes are increasingly rising.

As a 58 year old Canadian male, I feel like a bit of a pussy saying this, but what about the environmental costs? The environmental costs from this war must be staggering. All environmental costs from both sides of this war rest solely on the shoulders of Moscow. As you know many things that damage the environment are not just local to that original impacted area. The damages sometimes go globally. Therefore, Russia has already assaulted NATO countries. Could this not trigger Article 5?

Another thing I want say, is that many people say Russia is getting weaker from this war. They say Russia would not last long in a war against NATO. Would it not make sense to think that Putin has been saving his best for last? Perhaps he has thousands of extremely well trained soldiers training other soldiers and treating them well, to be able to confront NATO if ever needed? Would it not make sense for Russia to use up all of it's glide bombs, old tanks, etc. first and save a lot of good equipment to fight NATO? Would it not make sense to think that at this very moment Russia is manufacturing any of it's own military bombs, and other ammo, and machinery to confront NATO? Could Russia be getting much stronger militarily than we think? If that is the case, then just waiting for Russia to collapse might be the wrong approach. Lets not forget that Russia is being financed and propped up by China, India, Iran, North Korea and even EU countries buying it's oil still. Who really knows what Russia may be doing. Lets not get overconfident in the West, and think that Russia might just screw up enough to practically defeat itself. In the end, we have to consider all out war with Russia if there is no clear sign Russia is falling soon.
