Libre office base (similar to Open Office) is a free database for mac OS X, linux and pc.

base is the only office SQL relational database available on the mac platform.

In this tutorial I show how to create a LibreOffice database, this is the same as an open office database, I then proceed to show you how to create your first table and add an autonumber key field to the table and show you an example of adding some data and the id field auto incrementing.

Libreoffice base (very similar to open office base) can be used as is and also to connect to MySQL and other database systems.

It is also the only cross-platform desktop database application.

Hello, the gift that keeps on giving. :) A video from 2017 helped me today. Without giving you the whole story, I'd created a database plus tables but every time I actually entered data I kept getting the same error - 'null into a none nullable column. I didn't get it as there was data in the fields. Searched for help - loads on "you must have set the character length wrong...." Anyway, I saw this video and scrubbed all I did and started from scratch. That helped me see that the issue was the 'key' and fact I needed to set it to automatically fill - e.g. changing default from 'no' to 'yes.' I would never have known that was the issue as I was looking at the fields I'd created. Anyway, now I have a database and it is not littered with empty tables. Thanks!

I'm working on forms right now, I just want to ask about creating a rectangle but I got a problem adding field above it. I couldn't select the field that I added to move somewhere in the form.
