2024 here. The first episode of The Penguin did not disappoint. Don’t care if “nobody” asked for it, just glad it’s here.

I can appreciate that Danny Devito being proud of and loving his version more, while heaping praise on Colin.

I had no idea that was Colin Farrell. That says a lot about his acting ability. Devito kinda reminds me of the Penguin, like that's who he is in some ways. Both are excellent though h. But Michelle Pfeiffer as catwoman - she had me at meow!

Both Danny and Colin _vanished_ into their respective roles. Even vocally, you almost can't tell it's them.

For me, every movie of Batman has a different genre for the audience to watch. It is really hard to compare the characters. Both of them are good. It is like listening to classical or pop music.

I see why they want to and are doing the HBO Max series. I saw The Batman twice in theaters and twice on HBO Max and I have to say, Colin’s performance stole the movie for me. He was already my favorite part of The Batman, but the more times over I saw the movie the more it only invigorated my love for Colin’s performance. As a Batman fan, I’ve seen every performance of the Penguin and I have to say my number one is Colin. It was most definitely a Penguin I can see in reality. I love that.

Colin has done for the Penguin what Heath Ledger did for the Joker.

Nobody may have asked for penguin on Max but I watched and want more. Now. NOW

Saying the new Penguin isn't very fleshed out then going ahead and claiming that nobody asked for a Penguin series is pretty wild. Looks like someone has a bias right there...

It’s basically Colin Ferrell as Robert De Niro.

Devito's penguin is iconic nothing can and will be taken away from that, Colin's penguin did play well and his take in the batman will be remembered. Both can't be dissed as devito was one of the originals and Colin's is the new era. But I think what people sometimes don't see first is. It's not how you look it's how you preform. Big example there is only one marvel/DC villian that has defined that the fact the way you preform is the way you show who you are, and that one icon is the joker. what I'm getting at is yes both devito and Colin do look different but they both did justice in bring this icon villian to life.

I love Danny Devito’s take on the character, I love the look and mannerisms of Danny’s penguin. He’s got a much richer backstory, he’s more tragic, more dramatic but in doing so he’s much less realistic but much more entertaining and relatable as a character.

That "Nobody asked for" line aged like an opened chicken package in the trash.

No one asked for it, he says sarcastically, oh now your eating your words, the new penguin show starring Colin Farrell is brilliant .

I think DeVito nails it when he points out the films are VERY different and go for different things, each actor was I believe perfectly cast for their respective films/roles.

I think Colin Ferrell's Penguin sounds a little like Danny Devito. I also think with prosthetics Danny Devito could have looked like The Batman's Penguin and given an equally great gritty performance.

And "The Penguin" in 2024: The show nobody asked for, but everybody needed!

Can we acknowledge how Colin Farrell does a good impression of Robert De Niro in this film?
