Planning Your Career as a Music Artist | A Journey of Successes

Having a successful career as a music artist doesn’t simply arrive overnight. Artists often hope for a way to break through and "make it". Even with the best of intentions, having ‘viral content’, or ‘trending posts’ doesn’t mean that you’ll have a long career with an engaged community of fans! Planning on how to build your journey of success is one of the most important processes and mindsets you can develop and evolve.

The mountain Everest analogy is perfect for this scenario, i wanna add that when you’re climbing the oxygen is getting lower and lower, you may not be able to cope with that change, of course you’re not used to it and might be better for you to go down a couple of steps to recoup and take a breath for you to keep going 3:30

I also feel artists hate the idea of being a business person. But you need to be good at doing business. Because it is a business after all.

Good points on what I think many of us as artists willingly overlook. I say willingly because in my own experience establishing an actual goal changes the dynamic of the dream. The dream being as you said that success will magically happen with minimal effort. This is a comfortable place to hide as taking the proper steps is actually scary. The thoughts of rejection, failure, scrutiny etc. can be paralyzing. I've learned that being comfortable with being uncomfortable is a signal that you're going the right direction. As a solo artist, and I'm sure I speak for many it's difficult because it's all on you. There's virtually zero support other than your own tenacity. Bands at least have each other to "cheerlead" one another.
I've been watching your channel for a bit now and appreciate the content. Guys like you are the cheerleaders for those of us that have something amazing to share but are confined in the vacuum of our own creativity. Thanks again and you have a new subscriber.

I also feel people limit themselves with the rockstar thing. There are so many avenues in the industry. Not saying quiting a solo career. But to pay the bills, I'm sure there are better ways to make a living in the industry.

I feel people want to be remembered as somebody who made a difference. Or had major influence on others. Not so much the wealth. I'm sure wealth is a big part. But more of creating an experience that will be remembered and studied by others. I guess greatness has a lot of facets. So it's hard to quantify it.
