Prices are going thru the roof, free stuff is disappearing, menus are getting smaller, rooms are getting smaller, ports are saying no, casinos are getting tighter, things are being taken away from us, kids are destroying the hot tubs with pee, more people are fighting, restrictions on us (charging ports) are becoming a joke, if you want more outlets they say then get a suite. Suites are now beyond reach for most people, Food is tasting worse and worse, loyalty programs keep getting less, cruise lines cancel you with 1 day notice, compensation from cruise lines are miniscule at best, and drink packages require a second mortage on your house. $2500 for a 21 day cruise from Australia. Thats just a few of the reasons were cruising less.

B - Cruise less. Weaning away from cruising. Solo traveler here and it gets more expensive every cruise.

B - I’ll cruise less and I used to do 3-4 a year. Now I’ll do one a year.

A -we already have four cruises booked. Trying to make up for lost time as we are in our 70s. We have to travel as much as we can while we can.

Just got off my second Celebrity cruse last week and CANNOT wait for our next one in May. LOVE LOVE LOVE this cruise line!

That cutoff on the Norwegian Star cancellations made me catch my breath as I’m supposed to do a Northern Europe cruise on her come September 2026. So when you mentioned the name my head shot up. NCL is sometimes notorious with the unexpected cancellations, and I know we’re months and months out but it does feel very haphazard. They can cancel whenever they like - sadly while folks are flying to or driving to their destination, but if you miss the cancellation deadline you’re screwed. I don’t want the government to step in; we have too much of that. I would just like cruise lines to police themselves and not offer these piddling 10% for a future cruise (I may not want to sail with you again) or help with airfare ONLY if they made arrangements. At least some of these NCL cancellations sound far out enough that I hope everyone can make other plans, but it’s still a nuisance.

You said NCL hasn’t given any explanations yet. You know it’ll probably be “fuel optimization.” 😂 That’s the NCL standard go-to.

B - I’ll be sailing less. Sailing prices, drink packages, and excursion prices are going thru the roof. I’ve also noticed the length of stay at a destination has been decreasing. Also, food quality and offerings in the buffet and regular dinning restaurants have also slipped in overall variety and signature dishes.

We just started cruising this year and I want to start cruising more, but if prices go up…I don’t know if we’ll be able to. We have to fly to where ever the port is, stay a night in a hotel, and if flights are too expensive, stay another night. I want to go on 2 cruises next year!

B . My last cruise was rough. We missed every single port that was on the itinerary. Weather was intense and there was a cult on board that took over every single quiet spot with new age lectures. I went to an all inclusive earlier in the year and loved it. My plan is to return to the all inclusive.
