Why is the car warranty scam so popular?

Experts say scam artists jump on our concerns about our vehicles and mix in with the legitimate car warranty call.

I got a call one time from a Chinese Restaurant in Greece that left a message on my phone for a car warranty... I did not know that warranties was on the menu, lol

I don't understand WHY this can't be stopped. Is there no protection for consumers from obnoxious companies trying to scam people?

I told one of these people that I didn’t have a car and they just hung up on me

Then they hang up.

I’ve had a cell phone and an active number since I was 13 years old. Every day for the first two years of me having my phone I would get these calls and that was the exact same voicemail messages that I would get. It would always say something like press one to speak with a warranty specialist and then the thing would hang up and if he tried to call the number back it would say that number wasn’t available. I still don’t even have a car and I still get these calls

I keep getting the same call for a 2015 Lexus and I have blocked at least 10 different numbers and they just keep calling from different number

I received a letter in the mail without a return address on the envelope or the letter itself and googled one of the two telephone numbers listed and that brought me to this video and other links. This was after I ignored their calls and blocked them. I had wanted to scan both the envelope and the letter to upload them here but this is not allowed by YouTube. Letter has 9/20/2023 date and the respond by date says 10/11/2023 which is today. LMFFFAO, you got the wrong person man !!!😎😎😎😎😎

My theory is that people just don’t know better similar to how Geek Squad can charge an arm and a leg for virus removal or windows reinstalls. I can imagine if I cold called a bunch of people who know nothing about computers I can convince them to pay for something that doesn’t exist.
