Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) and Auto Hold

Select Kia models come with an Electronic Parking Brake (or EPB) and Auto Hold.
On some Kia vehicles, the EPB switch is located on the lower left side of the instrument cluster…
On others, it’s located on the center console.
With either location, the operation is the same.
To activate the electronic parking brake… press the BRAKE PEDAL…
Then pull up on the EPB switch.
To release the Electronic Parking Brake, DEPRESS the brake pedal, make sure the vehicle is on…
and PRESS the EPB switch.
The AUTO HOLD feature automatically applies the Electronic Parking Brake when the vehicle comes to stop.
To activate AUTO HOLD, with the vehicle on…
Press the AUTO HOLD button – the white AUTO HOLD indicator shows the system is in standby.
The AUTO HOLD indicator will turn from white to green to show that AUTO HOLD is engaged, and when the vehicle comes to a stop, it will remain at a standstill when you release the brake pedal.
If you press the accelerator with the shifter in DRIVE, AUTO HOLD will be released
Also, if the Electronic Parking Brake is applied manually with the switch, AUTO HOLD will disengage.
To cancel the AUTO HOLD feature, press the AUTO HOLD switch again and the indicator will turn off.
