So after you scrape your initial food scraps off, you need to turn it on HIGH. Once you see some smoke, then put the water on it and then scrape it again. Turn it to medium, and put more water and then scrapenit again. Then, put oil (canola or veggies works best) while it's hot and use a paper towel to get it everywhere and let thar sit for about 5 min then turn off your griddle.

I think that it is so cool that you're learning something new. It can be SO difficult to do that with kids!

I don’t own a Blackstone nor have any interest in buying one, but for some reason I can’t stop watching your content about it 😂 I’m very invested in your journey at this point. Good luck!!

As a chef we never used paper towel to clean down our flat grill at night. It looks like you could be flaking/ rubbing the seasoning off. You may think the grill isn't "clean" yet but it is. The heat from the grill is enough to dry it and then reapply oil. The grill needs to be HOT, when we add the water it steams/boils. Hope this helps!

Don’t scrub it!! That takes the seasoning away!! We just scrap the food off and pour water and clean it like that when it still hot then once it’s clean add oil and u will be set!

You should try a non metal scrapper. Hot water with a hot griddle you shouldn't really need to wipe it unless you still see food remains cause the water should sizzle a moment then evaporate don't leave wet also should be hot to season. Also use the scrubber or something similar to move the paper towels especially when seasoning to stop from burning your hand. Try pancakes sometime with the oils as a mini seasoning. Also an old ketchup bottle works well to use as a pancake pourer.

Idk much about that particular grill, but I worked in restaurants most of my adult life. They make grill bricks that cooks use to clean the flat-tops at night. After cleaning with one of those and wiping, they put fresh oil down.

You have to reapply the oil to protect the seasoning

I think you may be using too much water. The only time I really use water and a scrubber is if I've cooked something "saucy" or sticky like pasta sauce or wing sauce etc. If it's just grease residue then you kinda want to keep that on there, that helps the nonstick factor. While it's hot I would just scrape off any bits, squirt water and wipe down with paper towel one time ( no scrubbing) then oil it down. Just my friendly advice and this seems to work for me personally! Love your videos! I've learned so much from you ❤️

I commend you for using your blackstone ! Girl power! I wish you had some sort of shade when you’re out there tho!

Easy fix, turn your grill up higher. Don’t be afraid to see smoke during the cleaning process. The grill needs to be ripping hot when you squirt water on it, and just as hot when you apply your coat of oil. Hope you get the hang of it!

I scrape all of the food off right after cooking, then turn it on high while I eat. The put olive oil on it and rub it around with a paper towel all while on high). My blackstone goes right back to looking brand new every time!

This isn’t too bad. I’ve seen videos of someone using sandpaper bits and a drill to clean it.

I want a Blackstone and watch your video often. I hope I can learn something. I don't need to re-season my cast iron skillet very often, but I follow the same procedure you do when it wears off. When I flip food, I often use a metal spatula and scrape as much food off as possible. That way, the cleanup is easier and seasoning last longer.
