Just found you. Interesting work you are doing here. Our '14 Leaf is going great but capacity is falling noticeably now with 75k mls. Looking at a new Zoe but this is an interesting alternative maybe.

Absolutely brilliant. Keep it up! My 2011 Leaf and 2015 battery would love an extender kit.
But I can wait.

Hi i followed you from the start. good job, and i am very impressed.
All the EV's. That will include the renault fluence. This should be easy. (i would think) The car has an intirely removable battery underneath. I have seen people changing out the cells entirely to more spac efficient cells, so it goes from 22kwh, to 44kwh.
Also, it should be possible to add faster charging by taking the parts directly from a salvage Zoey.
Keep up the good work. All the best luck.

You are doing perfect. All the ideas are great. 55+ kwh in a 2011. Would the 40kwh fit the 2014? If so, that would be the Nissan Leaf +++, add a hitched 40kwh combicamp(aerodynamic etc) and im off to vacation. I could even do fine with Chademo or 3 phase. ... just saying.

and one more thing...stay focused...there are 80.000 japan leafs waiting. 30 kwh useable and faster AC will be a hole new world for them

Could you send the extended battery pack with all of the accessories to the US? Do you have a paypal account?

Which quite frankly looks so similar to the standard trim behind the rear seats you'd be hard pressed to spot the difference. Easy to glue as has some stretch to it.

Very interesting project and good progress!! Just a suggestion: Have you think on crash safety? those modules in the back seems to be really strong so any hard impact can be directly transmitted to the rear occupants. Maybe the case design can have something that under a hard impact fold itself and disconnects the modules?

I have some experience with those TC chargers, I used them to fast-charge my Zero motorcycle. Highly recommended in my book, they are very good. One thing you might keep an eye out for is prolonged charging in the summer, they might get a bit toasty, but nothing a beefier fan can't fix.

What i would like to see in the future:
1- Battery splitter(at the connector of the main battery)
1a- If possible. With different connectors at the other end. So one could add what ever possible battery they could salvage. That should be towed some how.
2- The ability to replace my own 24 vs a 40kwh battery with Muxsan hardware/software(Buy the OTA update-able software to control the new battery). Us DIY´er would love this. Great solution for the EV owners who cant ship their cars to beautyful Netherland.

I would love this to come true at some point. Im aware that people have ´pinions regarding towing my high voltage Combicamp with a floor made of my old Leaf battery.
Love what you are doing. Make that 40kwh come true.

Great channel, love the retrofit spirit. Have you given thought to how/if upgrades may be offered in US/CAN?

I am also interested in a battery swap for my Fluence. The Capa is around 60% or lower. I hope the car still makes it over the next 2 years, but then I need a solution. The simpliest would be the swap. Fast charging could be nice but not really necessary. Keep up the great work !!

Excellent update, thank you. 2 Q's. What range would an expanded 30kwh 2016 leaf have after big pack installed? Also 3phase charging on a type 2 plug. Great feature. Would it charge at 43kw ? That's the best AC charge rate at most rapid chargers in the UK.

Do you have a webpage in order to make an order?

Goed bezig! Eerst jaren geleden via een DM op tweakers een vraag van je beantwoord over EV’s, nu batterijupgrades aan het uitvoeren! Supergaaf.

Hi just a suggestion why don’t you cover the battery box with acoustic cloth using industrial strength glue it’s nice to the touch and very easy to trim and work with. Look into it I have used it on cars in the past with excellent results. 🤓

What about spray on or roll-on bedliner for the battery box?
