Good video, I’ve been looking into setting up a health savings account, but I’m getting confused between an FSA and an HSA.

I'd love to see an hour long show on health related finance. One with examples that compare deductibles, coinsurance, copay, contributions to HSA and with examples of the different levels of health spending that show where the tipping point would be for two different hypothetical plans. I'd also love to see it include planning for healthcare in retirement, long term care insurance, projected healthcare costs for an average retiree and how much you'd have to put in your HSA to get there (by age of course!).

BEST description of the difference between these two. I need to start an FSA at this years open enrollment in November for my eyeglasses. My prescription is changing annually and I need to get these costs covered up front

LPFSAs make saving your HSA balance much easier, allowing tax-free money to still pay for vision and dental related expenses. Tax free LASIK in current year without touching my HSA money was sweet.

My wife and I have separate health insurance plans. If she has FSA through her plan, can I have an HSA through my own health insurance plan? The rules are quite confusing

Is it ever worth it to do a limted purpose fsa with an hsa if you only ever have typical annual vision/dental costs and are just paying medical expenses with cash to let the hsa keep growing?

Yeah my employers HSA cost 1k a year. Why wouldn't I invest that elsewhere when I'm healthy?
