This obviously isn't a full test between both brakes, there are lots of variables.
This is just stock straight out of the factory 24 MT vs 17 MT test doing a small emergency brake.

Have a discussion about them! That's why I made the video!

Enjoy.

My SP brakes are very progressive. Everything else being equal, both systems have enough braking power to lift the rear, so in an emergency situation I can't see where an advantage would come from. Better suspension and electronics are probably a bigger factor

Probably kept the rear wheel down more on the 2024 because of the better suspension

What about tires? model and pressure the same? I have a gen 3 and new s23 tires with proper presure do make a difference.

what about the clip of the wheelie leaving the Dec yesterday ?

Love the stylema's but it's a shame they use low quality brake lines with such a setup. The Street Triple has stylema's as well together, way better.

This is not at all a fair comparison. While yes stylema is better. They have completely different master cylinder. The Brembo on the 24 09 would have vastly better feel than the Gen 2

That test would have been better if you had approached and measured riding at several different speeds up to maybe 70mph rather than just 40mph
I think you will then see a massive difference in the stopping distances.
Would have been fairer if you could have loaned a standard 2024 mt09 to put up against the SP with the same settings and even tried different settings

An "emergency stop" from 15 or 25 mph? OK dude.

You're testing the tires, not the brakes. Either bike can lock the front wheel without ABS no problem. Let me guess, the older bike has older tires with more miles on them.

The main difference between Brembos and some OEM brakes on the street is going to be feel. My bike has M50s on it. The impression is you squeeze a little more, it brakes a little more. You squeeze a lot more, it brakes a lot more. You get what you expect every time. The opposite feeling is "wooden" brakes, where your effort feels disconnected from the braking force, and for hard braking, you can't really tell whether you should squeeze more and it'll brake more or lock up or what. This happens because of flex in the seals of the braking components, flex in the calipers, loose tolerances adding up to force going somewhere other than pushing the pads flat onto the disc. That's what all the expensive machining on Brembos is getting out.

Maybe coz the 2024 has a 6 axis imu and controls the brake force of the front brake to keep the rear wheel from lifting while still giving maximum braking power. 🤷‍♂️

Change the pads on the non brembos and you will find big changes.
