Brembo brakes vs stock oem brakes (comparison)

What a difference. You either plow a small family in a hatcback or ger brembo brakes and stop before you hit them. Nice investment

It's not just about one stop either, you will find that most oem setups will fade miserably after more that a few stops and the Brembos will be much more consistent, pads also play a big role

Something seems fishy here. Stock brakes were chirping tires and engaging ABS, which means were at limit of tire grip. Brembo just like that stopped the car without any hard work from the tires...were tires slicks in Brembo test?

It can't be due to just the difference in pistons. What about the brake pads? Are they of the same compound?
The OEM set-up with a more aggressive set of pads can also reduce the stopping distance by quite a bit.
And I suppose the Brembo is using a larger diameter rotor too?

Done this on my Charger RT
the stock OEM 2 piston braking distance was 60 meters
The Brembo 6 piston caliber gave 48 meters
12 meter difference 🤍🤍🤍

Did you make the test applying the same speed in each test? The difference in the braking isn’t meant to stop faster but to avoid brake fade be more resistance to heat. This mostly affects track performance rather than street driving. The pad choice is also a big factor when comparing pads. Good pads in stock brakes can yield a similar result to the Brembos, and the pads will be much much cheaper than a Brembo setup. You are connect in saying tire choice makes the largest factor in stopping distance.

The real difference between both brake systems is when you stopped with O.E.M. brakes from 60 m.p.h. repeatedly (like 5 times) versus a superior BBK, like the Brembos. Had a RSX-S with The GT Brembo BBK... great looking... incredible performance... but honestly, I got it just for the looks.

Is this the tl conversion or did u pay the 3 to 5 racks for a bbk from brembo ? Or is it dc5 r brembos?

If i got those it would make no difference to my car in-fact it would probably increase my stopping distance because they would lockup way to easily.
