Thanks Sisyphus. I’ve been watching your videos since high school and now while in college they seem to eerily meet me when I least expect it. You sparked my interest in philosophy and now here I am studying abroad in Copenhagen taking a Kierkegaard’s authorship class which I chose to do after dealing with the loss of a parent. I am now facing many of my own existential anxieties but you have always inspired me to keep pushing the boulder. The world is a better place with your videos, hope you’re doing well.

"Subjective truth is the truth to lived experience" And Albert Camus's absurd is the one such truth i cling to. Embracing the absurd brought me to a point of Agnosticism, and it's a leap to the unknowable transcended. By which such dogmatization and fanaticism can't reach me. I live for experience and i won't let my values compromised

As a scientist I've often only valued objective facts. That's a great way to do research, but I've found that I don't have time and energy to dissect the world around me. I can't trust others feelings to find truth, but I surely have to trust my own. Our feelings and senses are the most hifi way to experience the world.

Never thought the day would come when Sisyphus told me to become religious.

The universe in a way, feels like it has conditioned the human psyche to think everything in terms of causality - things exists and happens for a reason; they all serve a purpose. Its blatantly true in our attempt in trying to understand the origin of the universe and its inner workings. And we seem to subject our lives as a whole to the same rationale; a meaningless, absurd life is almost impossible to comprehend and accept.

I've never looked at Kierkegaard. It might be the bridge between late Tolstoy and Camus that I was looking for.

The universe is like the ocean. The ocean gives and takes, and could care less if it drowns you. But boy is it fun to do many activities like swimming, fishing, surfing, and so on. Perhaps the fear of drowning sometimes prevents us from doing those fun activities. But by taking a leap of faith, cannon balling, diving, or even belly flopping, only then can we experience them with authenticity.

I enjoyed this video a lot. I really like the idea of creating your own god to have faith in. And I honestly believe a philosophical mind with enough time will also come to the agreement that we all live separate lives with different experiences, and that everything is really just opinion build by said experience. I think this way of thinking really just has us let go of a lot creating a lot of peace and quietness in our minds. I guess that’s the point of faith. We are not Unique, but we are all special. I too over thought existence for a bit, but Realized that life is too meaningless to not live a fulfilling life.

Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.

It's strange. I agree with everything said in this video. It's totally true that my life would improve greatly if I embraced the irrational, if I had faith, and yet... it's not something I want to do. Maybe it's pride, senseless rebellion, lazyness, or any other thing, but it just doesn't sit right with me.
I want to enjoy life. I want to be a good person. I want to live according to my own morals. And I want to do it on my own. Is this a stupid thing to do? Almost certainly, but it's the path I want to take. The path I neeed courage for.

This comment section has some sad stuff in it. *Please*, if you are struggling with mental illness, reach out to someone.

Thoughts of death and suicide are not something you need to live with. Even just talking to another person can offer you relief. You deserve to live.
