Pingo de Mel Fig

Pingo de Mel is a Portuguese fig with the name meaning "drop of honey". Our tree grew better at one time but not as well in the last year or two but appears to be responding better to some flood irrigation and increased fertilizer. This fruit was drying on the tree and appears to have been caprified, thus the red color of pulp. It was moderately sweet with a moderate berry flavor.

Sorry, but that fig is not Pingo de Mel. The inside of a real Pingo de Mel is kind like the color of honey or a little more brown depending on how ripe it is, not red like the one you are eating in this video. And a real Pingo de Mel does not have a berry flavour at all, it's more like kind of a honey-like taste.

Hi - Agree this is not pingo de mel at all. Alsp pingo the mel is also meant to be one of the very few edible caprifigs (source: Ira J. Condit) so it wont get caprified. They are a very small fig, that looks like pure honey on the inside not bright red like this of that size.
