Mel do Algarve Fig

Mel do Algarve, which means "honey of Algarve (Portugal)", can have a honey drop coming from the eye of the fig. These are the first fruits picked from our tree and I'm guessing birds got them in prior years.

I appreciate that you love all your trees but what are the standout varieties for you on this end of the flavor spectrum? (I notice you haven't reviewed Izbat al Naj.) I have a small collection of dark berry figs here in Phoenix (9a) and would like to branch out into different flavors. Thanks!

Here in Portugal we call then 'Pingo de mel' (Drop Of Honey) not 'Mel do Algarve', and at this time of the year here we can see the drop of honey sticking out when they are fully ripe.
