There May Be More Plastic in the Ocean Than Fish by 2050!

According to projections, by 2025 the ocean will contain one tonne of plastic for every three tonnes of fish.

Principal research scientist, Dr Tom Cresswell from ANSTO has explained that “the use of nuclear and advanced techniques is critical in building capacity to identify the sources, distribution patterns, and impacts of microplastics and nanoplastics to our marine environments”.

This understanding can be useful in furthering our awareness of how microplastics end up in tissues of marine animals.
