I understand doctors want to call it a pre cancer or a breast condition, but to know that those cells are abnormal and they are harmful because if left inside the body, they pose a true threat; why minimize it by masking DCIS with other names? I am a person going through 2 surgeries now for ADH. It needs to be removed out of my both breasts because it's concerning. In DCIS cases, I know doctors want to save the natural breast as much as they can, but that, although very hard, becomes secondary when there is a 50/50 chance DCIS comes back and worst, can come back invasive. That is NOT a pre anything or to my worry, a breast condition. As a patient myself, I cringe everytime cancerous cells, in situ or not, are called less than what they truly are. It is not about saving my breast, its about saving my life as NO ONE DOCTOR can guarantee you this diagnosis will stay as is or will become life threatening invasive. If I am wrong, please help me understand. Thank you!
