Holy Hieromartyr Basil, Presbyter of Ancyra March 22
The Hieromartyr Basil died June 29, 362. His commemoration was transferred to March 22 because of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul. This saint should not be confused with Saint Basil of Ancyra (January 1), a layman. Saint Basil strove in martyrdom during the short reign of Julian the Apostate, from 361-363.

Fourth Mode
As a sharer of the ways and a successor to the throne of the Apostles, O inspired of God, thou foundest discipline to be a means of ascent to divine vision. Wherefore, having rightly divided the word of truth, thou didst also contest for the Faith even unto blood, O Hieromartyr Basil. Intercede with Christ our God that our souls be saved.
