Very cool! I would absolutely use my MC-10 more often except for its awful stock keyboard. It just drains the life out of me when I try to use it. I really hope your wonderful project turns into a mod we can purchase!

Nice work! Coincidentally I'm trying to do the same thing but with CoCos. I was able to do it with a usb host shield but those chips are hard to find now so I'm trying to recreate it with a pico and an mt8808 as well. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Very cool! A Pi Pico is a nifty controller.

This is so cool.. I dont see any reason this wouldn't work for a regular COCO too, right?? (different key matrix probably).. Also, would be cool to actually make a "pass thru" connector so the regular keyboard could plug in too, then you could have the case on as normal, and just have a USB-A connector next to the COCO VGA output in the back, and have a fully modern I/O on an otherwise stock COCO! (I'm envisioning plugging it into my KVM!!)
