"When will more masks and ventilators get to Canada's hospitals? " Here's a better question. Why in the Hell cant Canada make its own needed supply? The whole nations population is less than the state of California. We make like 70% of product to sell to the U.S. so why cant we have the military have a temp emergency take over of closed down manufacturing and have what we need from expert manufactures and mangers from the civilian side with the armed forces create and deliver to where the need is now. We aint big as our Brother the US so we should be able to move very fast.

For Pete’s sake, why aren’t we making the masks? We are the only supplier in the WORLD of the special grade of pulp required to make the 3M mask.

Its been estimated by some that if this lock down goes for a few more months that we might see up to 45% in bankruptcies ..
Why is this not being reported on ? .... a very strange silence from the media and governments.. but a topic most are talking about on the street.

@1:30 should be 230 million surgical mask, 75 million n95 masks. I have my doubt we'll be getting that 75 million n95 masks in April.

Never depend on someone, especially a single entity. My last relationship taught me that. 😔 Always have your pockets full no matter what. Therefore, i now have four bfs at the same time. Remember, more is better especially when it comes to trade. 😌

The goal is to stop the spread, so we can go back to work and save the economy sooner. Wearing mask is definitely important to achieve the goal. Our leaders need to change their point of view. Not recommending a mask because it doesn't help me as much as it helps others is HORRIBLE STRATEGY promoted by our leaders.

Based on WHO website, China first informed WHO of the coronavirus on Dec 31 2019; and China shared the genetic sequence of the novel coronavirus on 12 January, which will be of great importance for other countries to use in developing specific diagnostic kits.

Why compare yourself to others who perform less than you? I don't know how that can be a comforting statement...

Why are you keep asking same question again
Government is doing great job
You guys have hard time to stay inside home
How many times government has to repeat it ?
Still you are not listening
Marks will not enough until you dont listen to public health notice and be calm and quiet and let government do their job
Your job is sitting at home not complaining government

Canada is not so different from the USA. Both are "independent" from Britain, yet, the media dishes out the same non-answers to our populations that have been sedated with entertainment. No one is going to rebel because we are all so used to being idle. Or should I say, the ones that would have taken action or rebelled, have been murdered or erased from our books and memories.

There's no nurses to man these ventilated patients guys. I mean, if and when they all start needing life support ( a week or two they say away). Who is supposed to care for them? They say an ICU nurse who usually has one patient will have four or so patients and a nurse that works in a ward with outpatients/day patients, a nurse that's never given a medication in years and has never seen a ventilator, a central line, a URINAL!! in her career, is suddenly supposed to care for you loved on on a Who wants that? Does the nurse want that? The unions won't cover the nurses' liability in this hypothetical war time scenario (like Central Park NYC is waiting for...), and the College of Nurses is reminding nurses to practise within their knowledge, skill and judgement (just like they always say to protect the Canadian Public).... so... the liability comes down to the employer (each individual organization that I suppose is contracted with the Province somehow) or the healthcare worker/nurse/doctor. How do you know the healthcare workers aren't just gonna decline that liability in a war time disaster type scenario that we are currently piloting? I don't know. What if they just walk away and say no way. My employer isn't exonerating my liability for working outside my scope of practise. my union isn't helping me with legal fees if I participate in this demand by my employer (the organization/hospital), my College is reminding me I need to practise within my knowledge skill and judgment.... ie: ICU nurse who usually has one patient is now with 4 critically ill patients on life support - says to ward nurse who is on unit to assist "can you suction Mr Jones while I titrate up the Levophed on Bobby who is crashing?". "Can you change the IV antibiotic on the bridge with the propofol?" or easy one: "perform PPV and call RT". Or hey even easier one: "quick, he's bottoming out, draw up some Levo fast, do you know where it is? "do you know how to do chest compressions?" "is that real v-tach?"... the list goes on. Can a ward nurse tell if you're asynchronous to the vent? Does she know to increase sedation? Does she know what it means that your left pupil is ovoid? If that ward nurse knows these things send her to the ICU! But how many do know, and want this? Or how many will walk away? Can Canadians afford to find out? Canadian Nurses need to be exonerated from liability if they participate in Emergency War Time state of healthcare. That is not how Canadian nurses were trained nor is it how they were afforded licensees to practise nursing. That's why their licensing body is reminding them to practise within their scope. when it comes down to it, will the hospitals even have the staff to man all these desired vents?
