How To Create A USB Drive to Boot A Mac

Let's show you how to create a USB drive that can be used to boot a mac computer.

In this video, I walk you through the steps to create a USB drive that you can boot a Mac from. I'm using a 32 GB USB drive and converting it to an install drive. Open a Finder window and go through until you have the createinstallmedia file for the OS on the computer. In another Finder window locate the Utilities folder and open the Terminal application. Here you will set up the install drive. You will need your computer password to set this up. Note that using the USB in this way will delete all previous files that are on your USB device.
