Waterstones, the UK version of Barnes, bought out Barnes and Noble and they are the reason Barnes has so many special and sprayed editions! I worked there when they got bought and the manager told us to expect more sprayed edges. Also, its consumerism within the book community because the publishers know if they make it look pretty, the chances of it getting hyped are more and result in more profit. (not saying this in any type of way - as I do love all the effort and editions that are coming out but sometimes I think it's overwhelming and a money grab...I'm still tempted though!) i was stuck in the same cycle for years—working hard, staying positive, doing everything i was “supposed” to do, but nothing ever changed. one night, i was scrolling through comments on a random video, and people kept mentioning this book, Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane. i figured why not, gave it a shot, and honestly, it made me realize how much i was blocking my own progress. since then, things have been shifting in a way that actually makes sense.

I absolutely LOVE how many special editions/sprayed edges there are recently. For the longest time I just saw them on Instagram and costing like $15 more than usual, or only coming in sets for a series that are like $150 total, or they’re super exclusive because they’re only available for a super short time or it’s hard to get the subscription for the box they come in. And now I can go to Walmart or Target and find gorgeous versions of my favorite books.
