Never use a plain pokeball on a shiny. Great ball at the very least. Ultra preferred. Always use a berry. Never try to catch one while driving. Some ppl have to learn the hard way 😂

Yep. Lost 2 Shinies in the car (I wasn’t driving). A Zangoose during 2020 Go Fest (still hurts since I’m in the Seviper Region) and a Beldum during 2023 Go Fest

Only one I ever lost was a Wurmple. I was driving, came to a light and clicked on it, and I told my gf to catch it for me. She threw a pokeball at it with no berry xD
Ever since, she has golden razzed every shiny she finds on her account. We all must feel the pain once before learning lol

One time, I got a shiny clafary, but my father was driving to fast, so the game soft locked me, and made the shiny ran

I don't understand why Niantic doesn't implement a feature that prevents Shinies from running away. Yes, I know they do that for shinies in raids, but I'm talking about with ANY encounter, raid or not.

I know this isn't related to Pokemon Go but I've blindly killed a shiny rufflet in Asado Desert while trying to evolve my transfered basculin into basculegion and I've killed a shiny gothitelle in the Indigo Disk's Coastal Biome in synchro mode while using my shiny sceptile and I have an eternal hole in the heart that will never be whole again until I have reclaimed these pokemon. But GOTHITELLE'S SHINY IS SO FREAKING BLAND HOW WAS I GONNA NOTICE? Also there was a sandstorm when I came across the Rufflet and EVEN MY BROTHER HAD TOLD me but yet it was too late and the birb was wave crashed into oblivion.
