Didn't Get Lost - Mirror Lake, Wisconsin

Decided to try another trail while we were out in Wisconsin. This time, I tried to run around Mirror Lake. It is a lake that certainly lives up to its name. The lake was beautiful (and unfortunately, most of my footage of the water got corrupted somehow).

At Mirror Lake, the trails were wide, rolling, and very well marked. Even I didn't get lost there. A beautiful way to end our short trip up to Wisconson.

Thanks for watching! Leave a comment to let me know you stopped by!

The charity runner of the week is David Saxe, who is running the Marine Corps Marathon and raising money for Intervol. I've donated $70 to his fundraising efforts and hope you'll consider joining me.

Feeling for you! Had a run at a lake back in May with same thing. A bunch of black flies just hung around biting me numerous times for about 3 miles until I broke out into an open area. Misery!!

What are those beasts?! They look massive! We only get tiny flying attackers here, maybe a wasp or two. Kudos simply for surviving the attack! 😊👍🏼

Man seeing this makes me kind of happy that it’s too hot in Texas right now for that many bugs to be hanging around. Looks rough, beautiful trails though!

I was in Wisconsin for 3 months this summer interning at Raptor Education Group Inc. I sure won't be missing the humidity and mosquitoes anytime soon haha.

I live in Redmond WA. Summer here is lovely but every time when I run on the trail, those little nits/flies drive me nuts...

Where I run, if you’re moving at a reasonable speed (>6mph) the insects usually leave you alone, or can’t keep up. Looks like that’s not the case in Wisconsin!

Bug spray review? Lol, oh man I feel your pain with the bugs. I'll take sore legs over welts from bug bites any day.

good that no dengue virus, unlike here in the Philippines.

Bugger that you’ve got mega bugs attacking your camera, good watching your progress, sub 3 marathon, massive goal, keep up the good work! 👏

Those bugs are eating you alive Kofuzi. Looks like they are eating as much us possible because no one runs there. Chasing3 even if it bugs are chasing you.

Feel your pain and annoyance. Had a few Summer runs ruined by vicious, relentless horse flies here in Hudson Valley NY area. Black fly swarms further upstate in the Catskills & Adirondacks...and dreaded mosquitoes attracted by CO2 we're puffing out. You cannot stop, they descend upon you and eat you alive. Always have bug repellent in my car...

Looks like those are deer flies that were biting you. Those things are nasty and resilient. Bug spray on the neck and back will help deter them some. It’s a good thing you wore a hat otherwise they will land on your head and bite you.

Guys I need a recovery, but also long distance running shoe (I already own a peg 35), I am torn between the nike epic react (old) and the NB beacon (old) which is better in your opinion?

Now you know that you will need to use a lot repellent for your next run in such conditions !

Bahaha.... you will never out run the WI Mosquito. Once, I saw a dude running using his shirt trying to swat them off. Welcome!

Did you try bug spray? That usually helps, not always though as I have had times when they still bite. Looked like a miserable run with all the bug bites, hopefully that isn't the whole story.
