I’ve been on the other sleeper train, which is called the Caledonian sleeper, it goes from London to Inverness. And let me tell you, it was such a nice experience, just imagine a plane, but it’s extremely long and you get your own bed. If you want to visit the highlands i recommend going on this

My wife (girlfriend at the time) and I got one for free on our way from Edinburgh to London. We booked tickets up in Aberdeen, and the lady entered the info wrong on the ticket. When we arrived, we realized the problem after not being able to find anywhere to sit. So the amazing lady working on the train saw the distress my wife was in and escorted us to the sleeper car. She opened the door and simply said, "Have a good sleep!" It was amazing. We were backpacking and really needed the rest! Once the train started moving, it was like being rocked to sleep. When we both woke up, we were startled. I was one of those sleeps where you forget where you are for a second 😂.

As an american who doesn't have these but does have 3-4 hour flights that are as expensive for ONE person, no breakfast or bed, I would say yes, this is positively worth it.

The Caledonian Sleeper is amazing. I was really excited about going on it like a kid on Christmas Eve. Couldn’t wait to get into bed just so l could see the world rushing past. I think I went to sleep within seconds best nights sleep ever. We have done it there and back twice now.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are from taking this train.

I traveled around Europe in 1990 by train. It's a great way to travel. This is a very nice train. I hope to see England some day. Thanks.

As a child I travelled at least twice a year on the night sleeper from Euston to Ravensglass disembarking at Sandside in Cumbria. The train left London at about 10.30pm and we arrived at 7.30am. We would all have sooty faces as we stuck our heads out of the window and the smoke from the engine would blow into our faces. Used to love the old steamers.

Honestly seems worth it for that price and fun way to travel to Cornwall on holiday with the extra experience

Oh man this reminds me of the sleeper trains we had in Kenya back in the day. It had a similar layout...such nice experience. Oh and they had a breakfast cabin so you could watch the wildlife as you have your breakfast...

Sleeper trains in Romania are two triple bunk beds in a cabin the same size you had for second class. and two double bunk beds for first class. You get a sealed bag with bed sheets when you get on and you make your own bed. It's latterly only for sleeping. There are two baths with shower for every10 cabins.

Yes, I do! There is something romantic and deeply soporific about gliding through the countryside, on a train 🚆 while you sleep

OMG That is so worth it. If Amtrak sleepers were that cheap I'd take overnight trips several times a year. 😢
