Underappreciated perk of the Epiphone Modern is that the back doesn't have the awful looking veneer that the other models do and you can just see the nice looking mahogany wood grain.

The out-of-phase makes some cool changes at the limits of the pots, I play the center position in both tones all the way down, and both volumes are almost maxed, just back a notch, this gives some really nice overdrive tones.

I love the channel because we get to actually hear the guitars not pro tools or other digital tech. It’s the literal guitars!! Great job 👍 Lots of guitar channels run through daws and other very expensive hardware… To get their sound.

I bought the Epiphone Les Paul Modern burgundy last year. Online. It had a cracked finish on the neck and horribly badly matched wood on the back. I returned it and got a replacement. Back looked beautiful. No dings or issues with the finish. It plays and sounds great. I don’t really play anything else nowadays. So, QC appears to be on and off. If you get a good one, it’ll challenge any Gibson.

I bought my first Les Paul from the music store a couple of days ago an Epi inspired by Gibson LP Standard in Ice Tea Burst for $649. and it is amazing. Couldn’t be happier!

I bought mine a few weeks ago for 250.00 UK pounds, it was almost brand new, still had the plastic on the pickups, I love it, a bigsby is on the way for it, gonna be sweet

I get tempted by the review to try this guitar but then the reviewer says the first one was a dud and many comments say they have issues with finish and electronics of Epi guitars. I bought the lowest end PRS S2 single cut a few years ago and the fit, finish, functionality and sound are all very good. I bought the satin flat black with dot inlays for $1, 050 which isn't a fancy guitar. It is basically a LP clone but it does have a pick guard attached to the body and it is all mahogany - no maple top. I have 4 different e-guitars and it is the easiest to play and it sounds the best. It even plays better than my 1997 Heritage H535 which goes for $3, 000 new. Still might try these but I would probably buy locally so I could have easy access to return it if it is a dud.

650 dollars and an ebony fretboard. Such a nice guitar.

I have this exact guitar. Swapped the pickups for SD JB/Jazz. Changed the knobs for black ones. Added a poker chip to the neck bridge switch. It’s a great guitar. But may have to change the switch itself because sometimes it doesn’t quite switch to neck from middle.

I tried all of the epi Les Pauls in the guitar store, 50’s, 60’s, Studio, even the 59 and the modern was my favorite. It had a loud acoustic sound unplugged and the ebony fretboard and asymmetrical neck felt great. Sure it’s not as slinky as a Gibson but the sustain is there.

I'm glad this one showed up with no major problems. That color is great.
Nice one, guys.

Beautiful guitar (Pelham Blue) & the asymmetrical neck was a pleasant surprise… plays like a dream and feels great in my hand. Thanks

Is this guitar sub par or not? I bought the new Sheraton pro II, the second one was the boogie. If this axe is of a similar quality, then after a set up it'll be a monster, just like Johnny Lee said. The good thing about these guitars is you can remove the guts and transplant what you want into them and still have a guitar that in terms of quality, aesthetics, tone and playability, can go toe to toe with a real Gibson or any other brand with no sweat.

I got one of these and it's my only Squier and Epiphone that has sharp fret edges, and that's out of 16 guitars and counting. It makes me wonder if they're cheaping out on quality control to get those fancy features out.

I bought one of these, great out of the box, no issues. Its a great guitar but ive kind of decided i dont care for the treble bleed aspect of it, it doesnt clean up how im used to and keeps it too bright for my taste. Thats all personal preference but the fit and finish was excellent. Might swap out the wiring harness and roll on

I came here for the Gibson modern, but you mentioned the Epiphone. Haven't played in 25 years. It's sooo hard to decide because a Gibson just has so much sex-appeal to me for whatever reason. Your reviews are just awesome in helping me decide on a guitar.

The finish cracking on the neck under the nut is impact damage from shipping. The problem is that you can't tell if there's any damage to the wood. Check your guitar as soon as you get it.

Don’t let the beautiful and good look’s get you! They still have big problems with them, I decided to give them another try so this time I bought a Epiphone Slash Les Paul very nice and beautiful, but! It’ll still give intonation problems no matter what. So I have another wall hanger 😢, spent lots of money to have them fixed right and they still can’t fix it!
