I've been a little worried about y'all. You fellas should have known better. If there's a next time you fellas might not be so lucky. Y'all are smarter than that. Be safe and use your heads.

Getting overconfident fellas. Don't be your own worst enemies.

Caving in the rain. What an outstanding decision.

The jaw bones you found are from a black bear I believe.

It shows large canines and flat molars which means the animal had an omnivore diet.

There’s not enough oxide staining on the bones to make them prehistoric but definitely a few hundred years old possibly.

Nobody who has died in a cave expected to die in that cave. They all thought it would be fine. Think about that

I use to cave like this in my younger days, that is until....
one day, just like any other caving day, we were exploring just like you guys. However, the ceiling in the next room decided to let go and completely collapse. It reverberated the entire cave, was loud af, and was definitely not fun anymore. It was the biggest reality check. Although it was some of the best years of my life, I never did it again. Those boulders and collapses you crawl around on may seem like they've been collapsed for hundreds/thousands of years, but they let loose. And when they do, it ain't cool. But keep doing you until you find out. cheers.

When I was in my early 20’s while visiting relatives me, my wife and two cousins went to a cave on the side of a mountain in Alabama. It was barely sprinkling when we went in at dusk and on the way to it we crossed a 3 foot wide ankle deep creek. When we left that creek was between chest and shoulder deep. Insane how much water sheds off those mountains in just a few hours.

3 cavers died this same way, one got too cold and froze up and was hanging half way up too cold to move, another went to try rescue and also got stuck, same with 3rd and all 3 froze to death hypothermia, too risky guys

Is it just me or does everyone else want to see a video(s) unedited and not sped up? I’ve rewatched all of your videos multiple times and would love a super long video. Legit I would sit through an 8 hour video easily. It may take a few days but I’d watch the hell out of it.

I swear, I am going to be upset if I get news about you having died due to overconfidence like this. Stay safe.

The wall textures are what needs a scale of coarseness. From 150 grit sandpaper to the bastard file to sawmill teeth, as the local rock have sulfides in them. You need to take pH strips with you to test the acidity of the water. There are some soils in TN that make caving toxic.

I just watched a "caving disasters" video where some guy froze to death in this exact situation. He just couldnt get up the rope in time with the freezing water pouring on him.

Vicariously caving through you guys from the safety of my home. Def not worth the risk to your lives. Be careful. Would hate to hear that something bad happened.
