A two-year-old couldn’t hold her excitement in when she saw her Navy dad for the first time in more than three months, running over to his helicopter.

Nelly-May Jackson is a real daddy’s girl, so when Jason was deployed on the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth for three and a half months, she really missed him.

Having been taken to RNAS Yeovilton on December 3 by mum Hannah, she didn’t want to wait to be reunited any longer.

Letting go of her mum’s hand, Nelly-May runs as fast as her little legs can take her towards her daddy as he stepped out of his helicopter and straight into his arms.

When she says "Daddy" 🤗
The way they run, speak, smile and get excited over little things that we take for granted, is so amazing.

Awwww, that’s me and my Dad when he came back from Korea. I was 4. In our future, we had two more war time tours, both in Vietnam, when I was 11 and 16. Military families serve, too.

I loved how he let his daughter wrap her arms around his neck first and then picked her up

*I felt that

Three months away! I used to see my father once a year. He was in the Indian army. He would always be deployed in a remote hilly area of north east or Kashmir. But I still remember he would send us apples and walnuts from Kashmir. And he used to send us coffee beans, deer and wild boar meat from the hills of Manipur.

There is such a special bond between daddies and their girls. My dad just passed away a couple months ago and that special bond was always there.

I was like that once upon a time. My father travelled a lot for business during my childhood and I was always excited to see him again.

The excitement she had as she was running as fast as her little legs could take her. Then hearing her call out "DADDY!", as he came toward her, squatted down, and held his arms out for her. Seeing her running into his arms and her wrapping her little arms around him was too much, yep, my eyes sprung major leaks. Such a beautiful family. God Bless and Protect ALL our military, law enforcement, first responders, Border Patrol and all their families. You ALL are my HEROES!!
