"My husband, is an active duty Navy pilot. He left Oct 1st on his 7th deployment, which was supposed to be 6 months. When COVID-19 became a pandemic, his deployment was extended. The school was canceled, soccer season was canceled, we were in isolation, and the climate of the world was in general, pretty negative.

David's squadron was extended numerous times; so much so that my daughters quit asking when Daddy was coming home. When we finally got a solid return date, I decided to try to make his homecoming extra special; the girls had handled everything so well, I wanted to make it as fun for them as possible. I created the scavenger hunt and told them it was simply something fun to celebrate the school year ending. They were ecstatic to find their Daddy at the end, after being away for 248 days."
