How Well Does the Jeep Gladiator JT Really Tow?

Our first real trip towing with the new Jeep Gladiator JT on 37s. Real world mileage, stats, and experience, pulling our 23’ Sea Ray.

Did you do any regearing to handle the bigger tires and lift or is it still factory 4:10 gears. I have the sport max tow and want to add bigger tires but reading into says you lose on towing capacity. I have a 22ft boat at about 5500 lbs

230 oil temp is kind of high for the 3.6. Should run 190-210. I know you’re towing so it’s working harder, but I would keep an eye on that.

How did the Gladiator do retrieving the boat at the boat ramp? Did you use 4 low or high to pull it out? I want to buy a Gladiator next month, but I'm concerned it may struggle pulling the boat up the boat ramp. I have a 24 ft. Chaparral, about 6000 lbs. with gas and the trailer.

Looks like it tows pretty comparable to my F150. I'm sure your 4:10s help a lot. I have a 2010 F150 5.4 with 3.55 gears and 33 inch tires. Regearing would help me a good bit especially since I have a 6 speed.

How do you get the dog in there? I've been considering the JT but worried my 90lb Golden Doodle won't fit well in the back (he loves the room in the back of the WK2).

Is the driver seat in a gladiator more comfortable than a Wrangler Sport? I just rented a 2020 Wrangler and I couldn't believe how uncomfortable the seat was and how it hurt my back. Can't imagine going on long road trips in that seat.

I live in Colorado and just bought a 2020 Gladiator. I have a 20 foot aluminum boat with a double axle trailer, probably weighs as much as your 23 ft. Sea Ray. It tows ok for the most part but I would never tow my rig in the CO mountains. Living in OK, you can probably get away with this as your main tow vehicle but if you live at a higher altitude, get something else.
