Pulling Down Strongholds vs Casting Out Demons | Spiritual Warfare

When it comes to spiritual warfare many believe casting down strongholds (which is not even the proper phrase it's pulling down strongholds) and casting out demons are synonymous but they are not. We pull down strongholds by casting down imaginations. Which is taking thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10. It doesn't matter how many demons you cast out if you don't believe God's Word on a topic. Especially what the gospel proclaims about Christ's finished work concerning you. This is why many struggle with habitual sin because of walking in contradiction to the Truth.

We struggle with habitual sin and sin in general because we live in sinful, imperfect bodies. Christ alone has freed us. Let us rest in Him. The more you rest in His finished work, the more you will learn to sin less. But, if everyday you are walking on eggshells trying not to sin, you will fail, get frustrated and sin more.

Sometimes these strongholds are verifiable data and based on experience, isn’t prevention better than cure, sometimes we need some form of tangible collateral when making an investment, especially if we we’re burnt before and suffered the consequences therefore, faith runs out when you experience negativity for far too long, don’t tell us to trust you for something else or renew our Mind while we still have memories of what we went through, maybe this stronghold is a defense mechanism, they say trust but verify, maybe this stronghold is now a reflex, I’m not indulging myself in another roller coaster of wishful thinking, it’s just not worth it to me, if there are no guarantees there are no permits, just like marriage these days, a prenup is a necessity not a luxury but nevertheless, may God’s will be done, this life game is his show.
