Hip CAR's (controlled articular rotations) are a great movement to establish joint articular workspace, increase nutrient supply to the joint, enhance joint proprioception, and build strength in 360 degrees in the hip joint. This variation of HIP CAR's uses a tabletop position and makes a slight modification from the functional range conditioning protocol in order to work some extra corners of the joint from this position and to demonstrate greater muscular control during full active range motion.

Thank you Anthony! I did some research about the splits and found out that you are right that extreme rom like the splits is actually dangerous. I discovered the Ligamentum Terres aka LT hip ligament and wow I did not know it even exists. If you look up what it is and what it does you won't want to even try the splits anymore!
